Front - ProficiencyOur most recent service - is offered to Personal Protective Equipment laboratories, to help demonstrate the quality of your testing.

With almost 400 performed to date, INSPEC InterLaboratory Comparison (ILC) schemes are available for all types of PPE and are offered to organisations that have the appropriate in-house testing facilities - both independent laboratories and manufacturers' own labs.

ILC schemes are a very effective way to establish confidence and credibility in the test data being produced by your laboratory.

INSPEC schemes are accredited against ISO 17043:2010, General requirements for proficiency testing.  Click here to go to our Accreditations page.

If your laboratory currently complies with ISO 17025, General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories - or you are working towards compliance - you will know that ILCs are one of the methods preferred by accreditation bodies to demonstrate a laboratory’s fulfilment of paragraph 7.7.2 of that standard.

An ILC can be, as a minimum, a comparison exercise between your lab and ours.  Obviously ILCs become more meaningful with more participants.  We have successfully operated several schemes of both types for several items of PPE.

Please let us know if you have a specific scheme in mind.  Click on one of the tabs to the left for more information.
